Live Dance & Music Spectacular

June 21, 2017

From the creators of the Grammy Award-nominated sell-out show INALA, which stars Ladysmith Black Mambazo, comes the Asian premiere of Voices Of The Amazon, a beautifully compelling live dance and music experience.

Set amidst the lush landscape of the Brazilian rainforest, Voices Of The Amazon follows the story of Beleza, a water spirit from the Amazon River, whose search to cure her dying sister takes her on a journey deep into the forest. To her shock and dismay, she discovers that the forest is no longer abundant in plants and natural medicines.

The show features a sensational musical score that contains sounds recorded from the Amazon rainforest, composed in collaboration with Brazilian songwriters and world-renowned percussionists Olodum. Music and songs are performed in English and Portuguese.

Showcasing live music, song and dance on stage, fusing ballet, contemporary dance and capoeira, the unique production aims to highlight the damaging effects of deforestation, the loss of natural medicines and plants, and the importance of sustainability.

Performed by a talented company of 14 dancers, singers and musicians, the musical promises an exhilarating live experience, embracing the true spirit of Brazil.

Veteran theatre, film and television actor Jeremy Irons, who has done extensive voice work, will be lending his voice in a pre-recorded narration for the musical.
