Singapore Fashion Week 2017
Fashion-loving folks will not want to miss the high-profile Singapore Fashion Week (SFW) 2017, a fashion showcase of world-class collections by top and emerging Asian and international designers and labels.
This year’s event features over 50 designers from 11 Asian countries.
Taiwan-born fashion designer Jason Wu will be showcasing his Spring 2018 collection
Headlining the designer lineup is New York-based Asian-American designer Jason Wu, best known for dressing Michelle Obama for many occasions including her first Inauguration Ball in 2009. Wu will be showcasing his Spring 2018 collection, fresh from New York Fashion Week.
Singapore fashion veteran Laichan, the grand master of figure-flattering Chinese cheongsam or qipao, will kick off the main runway show with his Spring/Summer 2018 collection which features luxurious pieces that embody the free and adventurous spirit of strong individuals who embrace the lifestyles of different cultures.

The region’s finest fashion labels will also be celebrated in the inaugural Asia Fashion Designers Showcase which will see exceptional talents from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines present their creations on the local runway. Completing the full Asian line-up are Singaporean labels Exhibit, ARISSA X and the 2017 Fashion Futures programme’s eight fashion labels – Whole9Yards, GINLEE, LING WU, DEBONEIRE, NIDA SHAY, WAI YANG, WEEKEND SUNDRIES and Ying the Label.
Debuting at SFW is modest fashion retail platform, MODESTyle, which will be presenting a series of three MODESTyle Fashion Showcase runway shows as well as a consumer and trade MODESTyle Trunk Show. The runway shows will feature some of the biggest local and regional modest wear labels including one of Malaysia’s top award-winning modest wear designers Jovian Mandagie and established Indonesian designer Dian Pelangi.

The off-site trunk show will see more than 30 modest wear designers from Singapore, Dubai, Turkey, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei exhibit their collections in smaller runway presentations and booth displays to trade buyers and consumers.
Complementing the glamour and buzz of the runway shows and parties is ZIPCODE, a two-day Fashion Tech summit, where more than 20 venture capitalists, CEOs and industry leaders will gather to champion thought-leadership that will provide insights and support for the Asia fashion industry.
Guest speakers include Jason Wu; Marc Karimzadeh, Editorial and Communications Director of Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA); Australian fashion blogger Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl; South Korean fashion blogger Shini Park of Park and Cube; and Andy Tai, executive director of Goldman Sachs.
